Occupational Therapy increases a survivor’s ability to become independent in her daily functioning.

Occupational Therapy, a field that is typically mentioned only in the medical setting, can assist in making a real impact with survivors and children of domestic violence. This workshop will explain what occupational therapy is and what “occupation” means. Participants will learn how trauma impacts the body, and the common interventions occupational therapists use to help survivors heal from abuse.
