“Lt. Mark Wynn is woven into the fabric of the battered women’s movement”, said Lynn Rosenthal, our country’s first White House adviser on violence against women. As a consultant for the DOJ’s Office of Victims of Crime, Office of Violence Against Women, and the Civil Rights Division, Lt. (ret.) Wynn has trained police executives, officers, prosecutors, judges, legislators, social service providers, healthcare professionals, and victim advocates in all fifty states for over 40 years. He has also consulted and trained for the International Association of Chiefs of Police for 35 years. As a Fulbright Specialist for the U.S. State Department, he has lectured and trained law enforcement in sixteen countries. Lt. (ret.) Wynn was a 21-year member of the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department and a key creator of the agency’s Domestic Violence Division and a 15-year member of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team. He is a survivor of domestic violence, enabling him to teach both effectively and passionately.
Throughout his distinguished thirty-year policing career as an officer, detective, special investigations unit director, supervisor, police chief, and state public safety commissioner, Tom Tremblay has been a passionate leader for the prevention of domestic and sexual violence. He is a retired Chief of Police from Burlington, VT, and the former Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Public Safety. Tom is now a national and international advisor and trainer for police, prosecutors, advocates, higher education, the military, and government/private sector. Tom is a contracted subject matter expert on domestic violence and sexual assault for numerous organizations including the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the Police Executive Research Forum, Alliance for Hope International, End Violence Against Women International, the Rape Abuse Incest National Network, RTI Sexual Assault Kit Initiative, and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Civil Rights Division and Office on Violence Against Women.
