Speaker: Adam Dodge

Description: Today, we are spending more time online and on our devices than ever before, which has created new safety risks for victims and survivors. As such, it has become increasingly important to understand the modern challenges they may face and develop skills that prioritize digital safety. The good news is that we needn’t be tech experts to have an impact. In this interactive training, we will discuss practical and actionable steps to prevent and respond to common and emerging forms of technology-facilitated harms and help anyone navigate the digital world more safely.

Throughout the day, we will explore areas critical to victim safety, beginning with an exploration of emerging digital threats such as AI-generated image abuse, online impersonation and stalkerware, followed by a deep dive into methods to address image-based sexual abuse, including sextortion and the nonconsensual distribution of intimate images. The session continues with practical approaches to safety planning and responding to allegations. Attendees will learn to navigate unauthorized account access, nonconsensual tracking, catfishing, online harassment and more.
