Description:
We hear the term gaslighting used increasingly these days, but do we really understand the effect of this type of emotional abuse? This workshop delves into the insidious world of gaslighting and its influence on survivors, particularly those who have endured Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). By going beyond the surface of the popular term, participants will gain insight into recognizing gaslighting techniques and their impact on individuals, including common negative cognitions survivors face. Clinicians, lawyers, advocates, and other professionals will walk away with the knowledge and tools they need to understand and support those who have experienced this type of abuse. The presenter will empower participants to become effective allies in supporting survivors’ journey to healing and reclaiming their identities.
