SUMMARY:Addressing Tech-Enabled Abuse
DESCRIPTION:Register HERE \nSpeaker: Adam Dodge \n \nDescription: Today\, we are spending more time online and on our devices than ever before\, which has created new safety risks for victims and survivors. As such\, it has become increasingly important to understand the modern challenges they may face and develop skills that prioritize digital safety. The good news is that we needn’t be tech experts to have an impact. In this interactive training\, we will discuss practical and actionable steps to prevent and respond to common and emerging forms of technology-facilitated harms and help anyone navigate the digital world more safely. \nThroughout the day\, we will explore areas critical to victim safety\, beginning with an exploration of emerging digital threats such as AI-generated image abuse\, online impersonation and stalkerware\, followed by a deep dive into methods to address image-based sexual abuse\, including sextortion and the nonconsensual distribution of intimate images. The session continues with practical approaches to safety planning and responding to allegations. Attendees will learn to navigate unauthorized account access\, nonconsensual tracking\, catfishing\, online harassment and more.

SUMMARY:Lunch & Learn: An Interfaith Panel on Spirituality and Domestic Violence

Join us for this interfaith panel to learn what faith traditions and holy writings teach about intimate partner violence. The panelists will share how they are doing their part to help survivors find safety and spiritual peace. Panelists will also provide insight on the religious considerations professionals may need when working with a survivor of various faiths. \nSpeaker(s):  \nAriela Goldstein | Sr. Director of Clinical Services Emerita Jewish Family Services \nReverand Camille May | Associate Minister\, Director of Pastoral Care Highland Park United Methodist Church \nSaadia Ahmed | Nonprofit Consultant Talem Consulting \nOrganization: Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support \nCEUs: 1.5 for LPC\, SW\, LMFT \nRegister: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_SXQXPwZSQK6zYuYlNpjq-w#/registration

SUMMARY:Expert Witness 101

SUMMARY:Trauma-Informed Care for Attorneys
DESCRIPTION:Trauma-Informed Care has become a buzz word in fields that interact with victims and survivors of gender-based violence\, but what does that actually mean? In this all-day training\, we will aim to provide realistic\, practical\, and applicable information regarding the assessment of\, intervention of\, and support of victims of Domestic Violence. Specifically\, we will provide training in the areas of DV 101 to help attorneys better understand the dynamics of domestic violence. We will discuss how trauma impacts the brain\, causing neurological responses as well as counter-intuitive behaviors. We will also cover effective communication and intervention when working with victims of domestic violence\, as it relates to their readiness for change. Finally\, we will end with a conversation about the effect of vicarious trauma on our ability to continue in this work \nSpeakers: Ruth Guerreiro & Jordyn Lawson \nOrganization: Texas Bar Foundation & Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support
